Places to Visit

There are pretty towns and villages  throughout the area, many of which hold weekly markets. Also waiting to be discovered are magnificent chateaux and beautiful gardens.

History surrounds you whether the birthplace of William the Conqueror at Falaise and the world famous Bayeux tapestry or in more recent times the D Day landing beaches with its many moving memorials and museums.

The coast offers wide sandy beaches and picturesque ports such as Honfleur.  Here too is the world famous Mont St Michel.

Sport and Leisure

There is a wide variety of activities to choose from and these are just a few.

On the water, the Orne river is classified 'first class' and is a paradise for trout fishermen amongst others.  While Rabodanges Lake is home to a Water Ski Club.

For golfers there is a choice of clubs offering the chance to play either 9 or 18 holes.

There are some lovely, clearly marked and well-maintained trails open to both walkers and mountain bikers.

A delightful river-side village at any time of year.

It is a friendly place with an excellent Tourist Information Office as well as a choice of shops if you want to shop for a picnic.

Always there are flowers.  In summer a riot of colour with summer planting.  While later in the year winter flowering pansies brighten the village.

At Christmas time the festive lights sparkle and are reflected in the dark river.
